Gatefell is a game you play in your browser. You can play without an account: then your game is saved in your browser only, and nothing about you or your game is sent to us. This page is about what happens when you sign in to keep your game in the cloud.

What we keep

That is all. Our server does not record your IP address or what you do. There are no analytics, ads or trackers, and we never sell or share your data. To stop people hammering the sign-in, the server counts sign-in attempts per IP address in its memory for ten minutes; that count is never written down.

Why

Only to keep your game in the cloud and let you reach it from any device you sign in on: the service you ask for by signing in. Under the GDPR, that is the performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)), and keeping it secure is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)).

Cookies and your browser's storage

Both are needed for signing in, which you ask for, so there is no cookie banner. The game also keeps your save and settings in your browser's storage; those stay on your device.

Your choices

You also have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. You can complain to the data protection authority in your country.

Who we are

Gatefell is made and run by one person. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page, and you will get an answer within a month.

Age

To sign in you need to be old enough to have an account with the service you use (13 or older for Discord).
